This capturing the moment project required simply looking for individuals in places that they can be alone in public. When we are alone and lost in our thoughts or possibly about to have a difficult conversation with a close friend or family member the moment is honest. When you see this moment, it is easy to recognize and if you have a small camera like the Fuji you got completely unnoticed while capturing the scene.
Capturing The Moment
People can become so engrossed in their phones and devices standing on the street or sitting in a coffee shop that nothing else matters at all, even the weather is ignored. This is what you are looking for, realty, not a staged event or reaction.
Individuals who are lost in the moment present no false image, you and your camera may see who they are. Capturing the city location that they have chosen to be in during this moment creates an image that can ask more questions that it supplies answers. Each viewer of the image and the moment will come to their own interpretation of what that moment meant.
Having people think about the image you captured is a rewarding experience, taking the time to search for that moment is worth your time.
