A number of years ago I was fortunate enough to cover the Caribana parade held in Toronto every August. It is the largest street parade in North America and garners over 1 million people packing the parade route and upwards of 2 million visitors to the city. Caribana street photography, particularly at a street parade this large, is a unique experience that has to be lived to be believed. The colour, music, moving location, sound trucks and million plus participants is everything a street photographer could ask for.
Caribana Street Photography — North America’s Largest Parade
Lots of beverage and food stands scattered about to take a break from photography during this amazing 8 hour parade. This all makes for an amazing Caribana street photography project! If you are planning a trip to Toronto and enjoy colourful events, great food, music, and celebration, then make room for this spectacular event, it happens every year. All these shots were taken with the Nikon D1X back in August 2001
