I covered the Doug Ford swearing in ceremony as Premier of Ontario at Queens Park which occurred on a beautiful summer day. While I fully covered the event with my Fuji X-Pro2 and XF 100-400 lens I could not help but notice some great street photography opportunities in the amongst the crowd of thousands in Queens Park and lining University Avenue.

If you are a street photography and have a camera with you (you always should) start shooting what is important to you for yourself during any job!

I noticed some people just stood out in the crowd of thousands, on the EAst side of the park was a guy in an amazing traditional outfit of some kind unknown to me with a very distinctive hat.. Meanwhile on the west side of the event stood a guy with an equally unusual hat that looked extremely well worn (I won’t say worn out). No one else at this even had any hat except for some spectators wearing baseball caps.

To say their hats stood out was an understatement, but when they eventually found each other and struck up a long and apparently friendly conversation these twom hats coming face to face made for the best picture of the day. Amond a swarm of dignitaries and politicians, these two stole the show for me.

Others indeed stood out from the crowd in one way or another and  I was happy that I had covered the event!
